EsScentuals

140-142 South College Avenue

The early history of this building is obscure, contruction date is estimated at 1904. Joe I. Alpert moved his shoe repair business, Alpert’s Electric Shoe Shop, into this building in 1917. In 1924-25, at the cost of $11,000, architect Montezuma Fuller designed major alterations to this building, and local builder Orton Davis, constructed Fuller’s third story and facade designs. The shoe shop stayed in business for almost 65 years, until about 1982. This building is a fine example of early 20th century commercial architecture in Fort Collins, and was one of Fuller’s final designs.

The building is currently home to Wear It Again Sam, EsScentuals, and office/residential tenants.
